Ignite Kit: Sparking Conversation about our Connection to Animals

8:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Event Details

Humans may not have fur, feathers, or tails, but our species has more similarities to our animal kin than differences. Discover the ways animal cultures and lifestyles overlap with humans with these books: Becoming Wild by Carl Safina takes readers inside the cultures of three non-human species; Our Symphony with Animals by Dr. Aysha Akhtar combines medicine, social history, and personal experience to show the deep connection between animal and human well-being; and Adam Rutherford’s Humanimal debates how exceptional human beings are when compared to the behaviors humans share with other members of the animal kingdom. You will find additional recommended books and an invitation to both a virtual and an outdoor discussion in your kit. Kit registration and pickup begins Monday, July 12.
